Blankies

I never understood why a baby/child could become so attached to a blanket...until recently. Miley and Irelyn are so attached to their blankies. They are so soft and warm. It is just these two blankets that they really like. They want it to touch their face and it often calms them down just by laying it on them. They absolutely love them. It's funny how they have become so attached to them.

Late pumpkin patch pictures

A couple weeks ago Cameron and I took the girls to the pumpkin patch. The girls had a WONDERFUL time!! It wasn't like all the patches you see in California. You actually got to choose your pumpkins off the vine!!!! It was a lot of fun. We went to the petting zoo, listened to music, picked a pumpkin, and just had a lot of fun! The girls loved the animals at the petting zoo.

Here is Cameron with the pumpkin we picked.
Miley looking at a pumpkin.

Irelyn doing the same.

Mommy and her girls.
We can't wait to go back next year. In fact, we may go back to choose a Christmas tree this year!

9 months already- Now and Then

I had huge reservations posting these pictures. I uploaded them this morning and then deleted them. For some reason it upsets me seeing how little Miley and Irelyn were when they were born. But, I changed my mind and decided to upload them again.
Today Miley and Irelyn are 9 months old. You can definitely see how far they've come. January 23rd was the happiest, yet scariest day of my life. The girls were born 10 weeks premature. Miley weighed 3lb5oz at birth and Irelyn was 3lb4oz. You would never know by looking at hem now. Now, they are in the normal range for babies their age. :)
They received amazing care from their primary nurses at Loma Linda. I do believe this is what helped them to grow strong enough to go home. I think of their nurses and the care they received every day.

So, these are some 9 month pictures. I don't know why it is so hard to get them to both smile and look at the camera at the same time. This makes pictures of both of them together difficult. But, no matter what- they are too cute!!

1 more day....

I took the girls in to get their flu shot today. Miley didn't even cry! She's a champ!! Irelyn only cried for about 2 minutes. I have such good girls!

I thought this picture of Cameron feeding the girls was too funny. I had to get the enchiladas out of the oven so he had to feed for a bit. He did a very good job!

Tomorrow is my last day off track. We got the girls a new walker to keep at Grandma Micks house. So far, they love it! While it is still at our house the girls have gotten to be in their own walkers!

I think that it is time to buy Miley a mesh bumper. Irelyn has one, but we hadn't bought Miley one yet. After seeing Miley taking a nap, I know it is time!

My fav pics!

Just because I wanted to add my two current favorite pics of the girls. Julie took them. Isn't she the best!!!

Getting nervous

I am really starting to get nervous about returning to work. Miley has become so attached that even when Cameron is holding her she turns her head and watches me the entire time. I didn't realize that this would be so incredibly hard.

Yesterday we took the girls to Tom's Farms. The pics are from Tom's Farms. It was a very relaxing lunch. The girls were excellent. They love being in their strollers without the carseat carriers. Especially Irelyn. She is such a busy body that she wants to see everything.

I may take the girls in tomorrow to get their flu shot. Haven't decided yet. We had to give them egg first, to make sure they weren't allergic. They may not be allergic, but they definitely HATE it.

I can't belive that the girls are almost 9 months. They have come so far...and they amze me everyday!

Hair and tupperware

I know it is hard to tell from this picture...but Miley's hair is out of control. She has long hair, short hair, new hair, and old hair. Don't exactly know how to control it ( or the thumbsucking, lol)
And, who needs toys? They love tupperware and other plastics. They throw it on the ground and mommy picks it up, they throw it on the ground and mommy picks it up. Repeat 5,000 times.
They wish they could use these spoons to feed themselves. But, we just play with them for now.
Oh, and daddy's little girl likes his hats too. Isn't she so cute!

I have to go back to work on Friday. I am so sad to leave the girls. But, they are receiving great care- thanks Grandma Mick!

Another weekend

While the girls are taking a nap...
A typical lazy Sunday morning around here. As you can see from Miley and daddy above! We have fed the girls, played with them, and had our typical breakfast from Jack-in-the-Box (lol).
Last night Cameron's family came over for dinner! Cameron BBQ'd carne asada for everyone. Our dog Shadow got to some of the meat before everyone else did! The girls had a lot of fun with their cousins Janna and Jaydon. They definitely kept them entertained! We love you Janna and Jaydon!

Some random pics....
Irelyn and her horsie!
Miley, "I love you curious George!"

I am going to a coworkers house today for a party. Can't remember what type of party...something where you buy things :). I am bringing Irelyn with me and Miley is staying home to watch football with daddy.
Irelyn is SO close to crawling. She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. She can scoot/pull herself anywhere she needs to go. Miley has two teeth and this has made her a bit cranky lately. Wow, they grow up fast!

Yep, I am posting again....

Realized that I should probably give a little background on the girls. I got pregnant in July of 2007. Cameron and I were elated when we found out that we were having twins!! I was shocked to find out they were both girls. I was certain that they were both boys.

I delivered the girls at 30 weeks and they had an extended vacation in the Loma Linda Nicu. Irelyn had a 6 week vacation and Miley had a 7 week vacation. It was tough having the girls in the hospital, but we knew they were receiving great care.

Upon their arrival home, we have been learning as we go and have been amazed at what joy two little girls can bring to lives.

We are so fortunate to have Miley and Irelyn!

Above is their birth announcement. Picture taken the day after they were reunited after their hospital stay.

My first blog!

Hooray for my first blog!!! I've been wanting to create a blog for a long time. My friend Julie has a blog and I have always wanted one since. Don't expect this one to be as fancy as hers. She takes amazing pics. It seems to be a great way to document the lives of our twins Miley and Irelyn. Afterall, they are growing up way too fast. So, hopefully I can figure this out!

Today, my friend took a few pics of Miley and Irelyn. I figured it would be a great way to start off a blog by showing off a pic that Julie took of the two. Hopefully it's okay that I post this Julie!!!

And, by the way, yes the basket has imperfections, but I got it for $2 at Michaels. What a steal!
