Both Miley and Irelyn are sick. Irelyn is getting over it, but Miley is still sick. Irelyn started to run a temperature Tuesday night. Wednesday morning it was up to 102.4. She was throwing up quite a bit too. So, Cameron took the day off and took her to the doctor. She is doing so much better! But, last night Miley was making the worst noise while sleeping due to congestion. It freaked Cameron and I both out. We were going to take her to the hospital, but the steam from the shower really helped. Today she is really pale, but acting much better. She is still as wild as ever.
I hate it that they are sick. I feel so bad for them that there isn't much that I can do. Fortunately, I am off for the next month so I can be with them.

Happy Birthday!
Warning...long post ahead!
Friday was Miley and Irelyn's first birthday. I cannot believe that one year ago they came into this world at only 3lb4oz (Irelyn) and 3lb5oz (Miley). They have come a long way!
Anyway, I ordered special cupcakes for their birthday from Vons. The girls went with me to pick them up after work Friday only to find that Vons had lost my order. So, we got these yellow cupcakes to help celebrate their special day.
At first Miley was unsure about what to do. (Fortunately, she figured it out!)
Both destroying their cupcakes. Irelyn did try her cupcake, only to throw it up a few minutes later (texture issues...)
Irelyn offering Mommy some delicious cupcake.
Then they tried out their birthday gifts. And let me say...you cannot tell from the pictures...but they LOVE them!
Saturday was the girls birthday party. It was a lot of fun. The girls loved all the attention! We were very lucky to have one of our nurses from the hospital come to their birthday. She has a special place in our heart (Thanks Stephanie!). The girls were exhausted, but got so many wonderful gifts.
You looking at me?
Yummy, cake!
Cake is exhausting!
Irelyn "playing" with her cake.
Playing turned into destroying...and notice the fairly clean face. She didn't really taste it. She must have decided not to after the cupcake from yesterday.
Anyway, Happy Birthday big girls!!

One year ago today....
One year ago today I looked like this....
And Cameron looked like this...
My water broke super early and we were just waiting in the hospital to see what would happen next. The doctors thought that I would be there a couple weeks, but Miley and Irelyn wanted out and would enter this world only a few hours later.

The doctors thought that I would be there a couple weeks, but Miley and Irelyn wanted out and would enter this world only a few hours later. While I was having horrible contractions, Cameron was watching television. How delightful :). I was scared to death that my babies would be entering this world so early, but was confident that the hospital I decided to go to that day would be the best for my girls.
It was a scary day, but a day that would change my life. I would soon have two precious baby girls. Two girls that light up the room and make me smile from a mile away. I know I say it too much...but we are so lucky!

So lucky
Today the girls had a high risk doctors appointment. I had to fight with the insurance to get this appointment...grrr.....
Anyway, it went great!!!!! The nurses and doctors were very pleased with how the girls are doing. They are right where they are supposed to be. Being born so early, I am always worried that they will have problems. But, today I felt so much better about things. We are so lucky that the girls are developing so well. They said that we were doing a great job and that they were right on track. Way to go Miley and Irelyn!
We were too busy to take pictures. But here are a couple pre and post appointment.
This is what Miley's hair looks like after the pigtails were taken out. Nice, huh?

Are they twins?
I get this all the time........."How far apart are they?" or "Are they twins?" Yesterday some lady asked my mom if they were 9 months apart. I just don't get it. No, they aren't identical and Miley is a lot bigger, but they do look like twins. It is the weirdest thing. Today a lady was talking about my stroller to another lady and told the other lady that they weren't twins. I didn't say anything, but again, I find it so weird.
Anyway, I was LUCKY enough to have the great Julie take some pics of the girls today. I love her pictures!!
My sister's blog has lots of great pics of her girls that Julie took. Check them out!

Mirror Me
Yesterday when I put Irelyn in the car she immediately reached out to grab the mirror that is always sitting in front of her. I hadn't snapped her in yet, so she was able to get her hands on it. She was so happy when she saw herself in the mirror. It was like...That's me in the mirror! Fortunately I had my camera on me!! She then decided that she liked herself so much, that she leaned forward to kiss herself in the mirror. I then decided to take the mirror down to let her hold onto. Now, she can look at herself and kiss herself whenever she needs to. :)

Activity Table
Aunt Katie gave Miley and Irelyn a Leapfrog activity table for Christmas and they love it! First, they had some problems because the legs kept slipping and sliding on our wood floors. Then, we moved it to the bedroom (one of the only places with carpet). Now it stays put and the girls can play, play, play!!! They love it...thanks Aunt Katie!

Quick Update...
I have been very busy lately :(. Going back to work after 2 weeks off is hard. I few things about the girls...
Miley still enjoys the occasional tantrum.
Irelyn can stand on her own for about 5 seconds.
Irelyn now says "bye-bye" when she waves to herself.
Miley started waving to herself.
Irelyn is getting a 2nd tooth.
Miley is getting a 5th and 6th tooth.
Both want to pull themselves up on EVERYTHING. (Which scares mom to death!)
A couple pics.

Yesterday was Rubie's 3rd birthday party. Sadly, I didn't take any pictures of Rubie. I'm fired. Anyway, the girls had a lot of fun!
