March of Dimes shirts

March of Dimes shirts have arrived!!!! We are so excited!! Our first walk is this Saturday (6 miles) and the second one is next Sunday (1 mile). We can't wait!!! Such a great cause! It's not too late for donations!

Do I dare?

Do I dare actually post this? It looks really gross...but so be it.
The girls have been absolutely attached to their blanket since they were only a few months old. We would not survive without them. Period. Their "b's" have holes in them, are stained, and are coming apart. We can only wash them about once a week, because the girls freak out when they cannot find them. We tried to buy more, but could not find them anywhere. They were a shower gift, Amy Coe Limited Edition...no where to be found anymore. I searched online everywhere and found them used on Ebay for $75. Used, uh no.
So fast forward...
I was looking on Facebook at some pictures. I spotted a blanket just like the girls in a picture of someones newborn. I sent a message to this person asking where they got the blanket and what brand it was. Sure, enough, it was the same blanket!!!!! I went to Babies R Us the next day and found them. $16.99 each!!! Now, while I don't want them to have a blanket forever, they won't sleep with anything else, they just throw it out of their cribs...and their other ones are nasty. So, that same night they went to bed with the new blankets and the old ones. During the night I took out the old ones. The next morning they woke up saying that their blankets got a bath. It could not have gone better!!!! And, no more disgustingness!!!
Here is the delightful comparison. I wondered if I dare share they picture. Yes, I dare :)

Colors

We are still really focusing on colors. Irelyn seems to be getting it, while Miley doesn't even look, she just guesses- usually pink. I am making these tubs slowly. We have only done red and blue. We collect things throughout the house that match the tub and put them inside. Again, we are doing this slowly, so we actually (hopefully) learn the colors.

New fav

My new favorite is these Crayola Twistables!! They are easy to color with, have no caps, and never need sharpening! I love them!!!!

Park

We have been going to a new park lately, and I love it! There is so much more to do and so much space to run around! We took the girls once last week and then last Friday night we had a picnic. I can't wait to go back!

Sand and water table

Apparently this is what a sand and water table is meant for...
Oh, that and dragging as much sand in the house as possible.

Tutu Cute

Yep, more tutu pictures. The girls wanted to wear them. :)

Bottle update

We survived night number three. Not as good as night number two...but we survived. She didn't ask for her bottle, she just kept asking for milk, no matter what cup it was in. Are we in the clear? Is the hardest to come? We'll see....

A girl and her horse

Miley loves her horse "Easy." It used to be her cousin Janna's. Easy takes a bath with her, sleeps in her bed, and goes everywhere she goes. She loves her horsie!!!

Bottle

I am sure many people will judge me by posting this...but oh well.

Yes, my girls are 2. Miley stopped drinking out of a bottle awhile ago. Irelyn, not so much. So, yes judge- My daughter is 2 and drinks out of a bottle. Just the mention of her drinking out of a cup put her in absolute hysterics. Funny thing is that every night when Irelyn got her bottle (she only got one per day) Miley would say, over and over, "sister, baby, ba-ba (bottle)." Well, I told myself that this was the month to stop. For goodness sakes, she is two. I knew this was going to be hard...especially on me. Why? Well, Irelyn doesn't like to eat. I think she relies on the milk from the bottle at night. She loves Velveeta mac-n-cheese, and that's about it. So, Wednesday was the night. She cried because she didn't get her beloved bottle, but it wasn't anything too terrible. Of course she wouldn't drink out of the cup. And, she stayed up until 10:00pm (I think she just didn't know what to do), but we survived night number one. On to last night....she didn't even ask for the bottle! Of course, she didn't drink out of the cup....but we survived...and she went to bed at 8:00pm. A little late for bed, but we'll take it! Tonight is night number three. I hear this can be the hardest...but we'll keep our fingers crossed!

I would like to thank fellow blogger friend Sera for an idea she gave me. She cut the nipples off her daughters pacifier, with hopes to get rid of it completely from her daughter. I did the same with a bottle and I purposely left it out on the coffee table. Irelyn found the bottle and said, "Ot, oh, ba-ba broke." Miley told her daddy broke it :). I went with it, and told her that she would have to drink out of a cup because there were no more bottles. She didn't cry or anything. I have purposely kept it around so she doesn't forget that they are all broken. She has been totally okay seeing this. Again, fingers crossed for tonight!!!!!!!! (And fingers crossed she decides to drink her milk from one of the 5 million sippy cups we own :).)

Evelen

We took a quick trip to Vegas this weekend (minus the girls).
Introducing Evelen..

She is auntie Myeong and uncle Trevor's baby. She was born last Wednesday. What a beauty!
So, we took the quick trip to Vegas and Myeong's parents, sister, and nephew were visiting from Korea.
Here are the proud grandparents.

All the girls, minus Evelen.

The happy parents and grandparents

Cutie Evelen

More of the happy grandparents

Me and the new bundle of joy.

The new, happy family.

The, we drove back to California, I missed the girls HORRIBLY, and it took us EIGHT, yes EIGHT, hours to get home. It was miserable. And, I was so happy to see the girls when I got home. But, it was great to meet dear Evelen. Oh, and did I mention that she slept practically the entire visit? She is a great sleeper!!!

Drive Home

The only good thing about an 8 hour drive home from Vegas....
The Gymboree Outlet. This is a post washing picture (They always look better before washing).

This and that

I am LOVING staying home with the girls this month. It has been amazing. I couldn't ask for more. I get to see them do everything and they have so much fun together. Today I was cleaning out their room and they played in the closet for like thirty minutes. It was adorable. They would stand inside and open the doors, "Hi momma!" then slam the door shut. Then, they would get our dog Lucy in there and would laugh up a storm. It really was priceless. I didn't get very much done however :)

On a pessimistic note...March of Dimes is in 22 days. Yes, only 22 days. I am very pessimistic that I am going to make my goal. I set my goal at $750, truly hoping I could make $1000 like last year...but am sitting at $600. If this wasn't so important to me, I would just say oh well, and move on. But, it really is that important to me. I know the pain a parent goes through having a child(ren) in the Nicu. I know that no child deserves that and ALL babies deserve to be born healthy. I just hope to come up with something.

I hope you all have fabulous weekends. I will! I am going to see my newest niece Evelen! She was born Wednesday night :).

Easter morning

Girls woke up to find these fun Easter baskets on Easter morning. They were much more excited to find the baskets this year. We are so blessed to share this holiday with them!

Crayola Twistables

On a special note...
When mommy is doing her own makeup, please do not pretend that Crayola Twistable crayons are actually lipstick. :)
