Do I dare?

Do I dare actually post this? It looks really gross...but so be it.
The girls have been absolutely attached to their blanket since they were only a few months old. We would not survive without them. Period. Their "b's" have holes in them, are stained, and are coming apart. We can only wash them about once a week, because the girls freak out when they cannot find them. We tried to buy more, but could not find them anywhere. They were a shower gift, Amy Coe Limited Edition...no where to be found anymore. I searched online everywhere and found them used on Ebay for $75. Used, uh no.
So fast forward...
I was looking on Facebook at some pictures. I spotted a blanket just like the girls in a picture of someones newborn. I sent a message to this person asking where they got the blanket and what brand it was. Sure, enough, it was the same blanket!!!!! I went to Babies R Us the next day and found them. $16.99 each!!! Now, while I don't want them to have a blanket forever, they won't sleep with anything else, they just throw it out of their cribs...and their other ones are nasty. So, that same night they went to bed with the new blankets and the old ones. During the night I took out the old ones. The next morning they woke up saying that their blankets got a bath. It could not have gone better!!!! And, no more disgustingness!!!
Here is the delightful comparison. I wondered if I dare share they picture. Yes, I dare :)

Very good thinking. I had this same issue a while back with the OshKosh snuggle bear. Then they came out again in different colours. But he has since gotten over the bear. Now thankfull it is a blanket I have about 4 of and were only $7 at the local baby store.

Catie was a blanketaholic. She had three (two pinks and a purple) We accidentally forgot a pink in California. Then we forgot purple at our friend's house in Wisconsin and she lost it. We finally got her to give up the last pink about a year ago. That blankey was gross! I'm so glad it's gone. Allison never got attached to a blanket.

such well loved blankets!!

Sophia has a soft toy bunny that looks similar. He is feral! I bought a 2nd but she didn't take it!

LOL!!!

Evan loves his blanket, too. It's one that I made for him while I was on bedrest, and I've had to repair it several times (it's crochet) already because he's CHEWED holes in it. His sister has a pink one that he carries around for her, and gives to her when he thinks she needs it. It's adorable. I hope we never lose those suckers, because who has time to crochet??? LOL

Love your idea for teaching colors. I may steal it.

My sister does the same thing for her daughter's stuffed dog - although she keeps the additional one on hand just in case dog #1 or gets lost. It has prevented numerous meltdowns :)

I think it is rad that you posted this and added pictures of the blankets! My oldest daughter Nicole who is 21 now was the exact same way and her blanket was just as nasty. I too had to search for a replacement and pull a swap on her! She too was unbearable if she did not have THE blanket! I once left it in Mission Viejo and yes I drove all the way back from Corona the very same day to retrieve it! Good times!
