Thanksgiving- Part 2

Yesterday was our second Thanksgiving. We went to Grandma Mick's and Papa Matt's house. We decided to head on up to the park while we waited for Uncle Trevor and Aunt Myeong to arrive. Daddy has always wanted to carry the girls on his shoulders. Unfortunately, they are still too little, but they got up there for a picture. Daddy can't wait until they are bigger for this. The girls went on the swings. They think that this is the best. They laugh and smile so much!

Wee!!!
Can you tell I am having fun?
After we got home from the park we played and waited a bit more for Trevor and Myeong to drive down from Vegas. There was a ton of traffic so they didn't get there until about 7:00pm. By this time the girls had gone to bed. But, they had a great second Thanksgiving at the park and a good time with family! Mommy and Dady had a great dinner made by Grandma!

Santa

Thanksgiving Part 2 post will be coming soon. I am just being too lazy to upload the pics to the computer.

This morning we went to my friend Julie's house so she could take a family picture for our Christmas card. It is oh so much fun trying to get two babies to smile for the camera at the same time. I am sure Julie and Ramon can tell you how much fun it was :). I decided not to post the pics because then you will know what will be on our Christmas card. But, my friend Julie has it on her blog if you are very interested. I will post them after our cards are sent out. Thanks again for taking the pics Julie!!

After we left we decided to take the girls to see Santa at the mall. We had to wait in line for an hour. The girls were good, but it was hot outside. It doesn't look like we combed Miley's hair, but we did. It was just wild. You can't even see the black bow in her hair. But, it looks better in our family pic. No, the girls aren't smiling, but they didn't cry, so I count that as a success!! Santa was a happy man and the girls asked Santa for new car seats.
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Thanksgiving- Part 1

Yesterday was the girls first Thanksgiving! We let the girls have some mashed potatoes. And, we let them eat them with their hands. They both loved it!! Miley ate quite a bit. Irelyn got more in her hair than anything :).
It was great spending time with family and feeling so blessed! We are so very thankful to have these two gorgeous miracles in our lives. I cannot believe how far they have come. From 3 lbs at birth to almost 20 lbs 10 months later. I am amazed by them every day, Every day is something new. Cameron and I have a lot to be thankful for at this time of year. We did take a family pic, but for some reason it didn't upload to the computer. I'll try again later.
Oh, and Miley is consistently saying "Mama" when she sees me and wants me. I love that sound!!! It is so sweet!
Here are a few pics...
Miley- Mashed potatoes....yum! Irelyn- You want me to do what with these?

teeth brushing

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We are going to my sisters house today to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. Then, we will go to Cameron's parents on Saturday for Thanksgiving over there. I will post later tonight/or tomorrow about our day. :)

We have started brushing the girls teeth....or gums. Miley has two bottom teeth. She loves to have them brushed with our fingertip toothbrush. I think she thinks its a game to try to bite it. (sorry, Miley's pic is a little blurry.) Irelyn has her gums brushed. She is a little unsure about it. She has no teeth, but we want to get her used to it.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Horses

First, a quick life update.....
Our water heater stopped working Sunday night. As you read, we all took baths with boiled water. Now, that was a pain. My brother couldn't figure out what was wrong and it was getting late. So, I picked him up the next day after I got off work. We got a new part from Lowes, only to find out that it didn't fix it either. At about 6:00pm David thought he new what was wrong. But, that meant another trip to Lowes. This was the girls bedtime, so we made a super quick trip. You don't want to mess with hungry girls. They are on a tight schedule and we try not to change it. Anyway, got home, fed the girls and David continued to work. In the meantime, our dog Angel got out and ran away. I was absolutely hysterical. Fortunately we found her about 30min later. What a relief! David worked for a little bit more, and finally got the water heater working. :) I never realized the importance of a water heater until now!
Horses-
My parents got the girls a super big horse stuffed animal. They have been able to lay next to it, but really haven't played with it. Today, I decided it was time to ride it. Irelyn LOVED it. She tried to pet it and bounce on it. It was so much fun. Miley was already angry and didn't really enjoy it...as you can see from the picture. I think she was overly tired. We will try again tomorrow.
In crawling news....
Miley still doesn't enjoy tummy time that much. But, she has found that if she gets on her hands and knees, she can pull herself up to a sitting position. Now, if she can do that, don't you think that she should be able to crawl? :) I know she will be crawling any day.

Baths

Happy 10 month birthday Miley and Irelyn!!!!
Originally, the plan was to post a transition of bath tubs that the girls have used since being born. Those that they used in the Nicu, coming home, and current. Instead, you see the following picture... Our water heater went out tonight. This is how we heated the water for our baths (via stove and microwave). Maybe I should be embarrassed, but it was kind of funny. :)
Hope everyone has a great week!

Saturday

I actually remembered to bring my camera to Gymboree!! Although, I must say that it is hard to take pictures while doing the activities with the girls. They love Gymboree so much. It is great seeing them have so much fun!
Here they are waiting for parachute time nice and patiently. Daddy and Miley singing a a song.

Irelyn crawling through a tunnel. I thought she might be scared, but she wasn't at all.
Daddy and Miley getting ready to go down the slide.
Irelyn telling mommy how much she loves Gymboree.

After Gymboree we went to Grandma Mur's house. Cameron's Grandma is 95 years old. She loves seeing the girls!

Another great Saturday!

Crawling progress for Miley

So, Miley is a bit behind in the crawling department. Actually, if you look at her adjusted age...she isn't behind at all. She doesn't like tummy time, and simply prefers to be held. Well, we have finally had a breakthrough!!! She is up on her knees rocking back and forth! Maybe she saw Irelyn crawling all over and has decided that she should do that too. After all, she is the older sister :). So, hopefully she'll be crawling soon!
Look at me on my hands and knees!
And, Irelyn crawling around!

Hopefully I will report another crawler soon!

Grandpa's Birthday

Today is Grandpa (Kelly's dads) birthday. Happy Birthday! We went over Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate yesterday. The girls always love seeing their Grandparents. And, they were especially excited that they got a new pack-n-play to play in when they go over there. It was a good time. Here are a few pics of the fun!

What a great day!

Today was a really great day!!I look back on day days events and just smile. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera today so we are pictureless. :(
Here is a run down on the days events....
We got HD and DVR (finally).
We went to Gymboree and had an amazing time.
We took the girls out to dinner and they sat in high chairs for the first time. And, they were perfect in the restaurant. Just played and talked to us. (I was so proud)
Took the girls to Target were Miley rode in the cart and Irelyn in the Bjorn. We spent $200 on our weekly baby items (babies are expensive...lol :)).
Came home and fed the girls. Irelyn laughed hysterically for like 20 minutes before they went to bed.
Cameron and I watched some tv before we went to bed.
I know, not too exciting stuff. But, really we just had a great time together. The girls were just SO happy. I love that!

I wanted to throw this picture in....
Here is a comparison of the diaper the girls wore first when they were born, and the diaper they wear now. The picture doesn't really do justice how small that first diaper is. The crazy thing is that the diaper was huge on the girls. No, it isn't a preemie size. Preemie diapers were the next size up. These were smaller than that.
I just can't believe how far the girls have come!

Books and Missing Food....

We read to the girls every night. Even when the girls were in the Nicu, I used to read to them through their isolette doors. I know how important it is to read and I want my girls to be good readers, BUT also love to read.
Reading has taken on a new meaning lately. The girls are really interested in books. They look closely at each page while we are reading and especially love books with pop-ups and mirrors. After we are done reading for the evening the girls are allowed to hold the books. Often this involves them eating the book. They get so mad when they can't hold the book after it is read! Here is Miley holding a book on puppies after it was read.
Here is Irelyn with the same book. Miley took it from her shortly after. Miley's book is seen in the corner of the picture.
Reading a few months ago....
Back in the day daddy used to hold us in the rocking chair together when we read a book. Don't we look so little?
In other news....
Anyone seen my puff? I know it is around here somewhere....
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Costco

I finally took the girls to Costco so they could try out their new double cart cover. Thank you to my mom for helping me with the shopping and the girls.
It was wonderful because the girls could see everything. Much better than being in their carseats in the carts.. They behaved super well too. They played with their toys (and stole toys from one another) and enjoyed "talking" to the people they met at the store.
I love Costco carts!! All carts should be this way!

Biter biscuits

Miley loves to eat, so we decided to give her a biter biscuit. We didn't know what to expect. But, she definitely thought it was delicious :). But, let me tell you...those things are messy!!!! Overall it was a success. And, in case you are wondering, we did give Irelyn one. She was more interested in holding it in her hand like a toy. It didn't make it to her mouth very often. Kind of like when we give her the Gerber puffs. She keeps one in each hand and opens her hands every couple minutes to make sure that it is still there. She is happy when she sees it still safely in its hiding spot. They never actually make it to her mouth. (They go straight in Miley's mouth).
Here is a picture of Miley with her biter biscuit.

Catch up post

I have been super busy lately, making it difficult to post. With that said, her are a few pics, pieces of info, all in one post.
Halloween was hast Friday. My friend Julie took some pics of the girls about a month before. Here are a few. (Miley is polar bear and Irelyn is a penguin.)

Here is one of the girls and me taken on Halloween. We only went to one house. Most of the houses in our neighborhood had the lights out. Boo. The girls were already super tired because it was past their 6:15pm bedtime.

The girls spend a majority of their days playing with their toys. They love to play. Unfortunately, they haven't learned what sharing is. Lol.
Bath time!!!!!! Our most favorite time of day!!!!!! Usually the girls take separate baths....the duck tub is pretty small for two babies. They love to splash the water with their hands and play with their toys and "talk" to the duck. It is such a fun time of day. I know they will be great swimmers when they are older.

Did I mention......
That Irelyn can CRAWL!!!!???!!! Yep, yesterday she took more than her normal 3 steps at Gymboree. I was such a proud mom! There is no stopping her now. Watch out world, here Irelyn comes!
We are taking the girls to Costco today. Doesn't seem that important, except today will be the first time they have ridden in the front of the cart together. Costco has carts made for two babies.. Katie finally found a cart cover made for their carts. So, we are taking a special trip to try out the cart/cartcover. More pics to come.
Have a great Sunday!
