First day of Preschool

I had been absolutely dreading yesterday for sometime. Miley and Irelyn's first official day of preschool. So many thoughts and fears run through my head-
Will they like it?
Will they make friends?
What if there is an earthquake?
Please don't let them pee their pants....
Will they loose their sweet innocence?
Germs- Please don't let them be sick all the time as everyone says. They already have a battle to fight with this since they were preemies.
Will 5 hours be too long?
Will I survive?
I hope they get along well with the other students.
The list goes ON AND ON!

But, nevertheless, the day came. Girls wouldn't eat breakfast that morning, so that made it even worse. Miley didn't want to put on her shoes. It was a rocky start. Fortunately, Cameron got the day off of work and was able to come with us. We took a little picture and were off....

Shockingly, the girls didn't shed a tear when we dropped them off. Grandma Mick even came to the preschool to see them on their first day. She will be the one normally dropping them off and picking them up when I go back to work.
We said our goodbyes and we were off. MUCH easier than I could have EVER imagined.
The next 5 hours were pretty torturous though. Cameron and I went to Starbucks, Target, the mall, and Lampost. We didn't want to go too far...just in case we got a call. Which we didn't....thank goodness.
Finally the time arrived to pick them up. Finally. When we walked in they were having cupcakes because it was a little boys birthday :). And, they didn't even want to leave. Even after 5 hours. :)
It It was pretty perfect though. They worked on the letter H. Miley and Irelyn LOVE horses. Well, they made hand print horses and they are adorable!!!

Now, we have to get books for a gift exchange they are doing. That will be fun.
So, I survived. But, I can only hope that tomorrow will go as smoothly.

Elf

Where is the elf on the shelf? How in the world did he get on top of the curtain rod? And, he invited some friends too? :) So fun. I LOVE this time of the year!

Nicu nurses

I cannot say enough about Stephanie, one of the girls Nicu nurses. We are so lucky that our girls were under her care....so lucky....

March of Dimes/March for Babies

I am copying this from my note on facebook :)

If you are tired of hearing about this, I'm sorry!

Before having Miley and Irelyn I had no clue really what a preemie was. I knew that babies sometimes were born early, but really that is all I knew. Having my girls was extremely hard. Babies are not supposed to be born so early. But, unfortunately it does happen, quite often too. Having two beautiful girls born so early has been the single hardest thing I have done in my life. Watching your children have to learn to do things that are supposed to be so natural, like eating, just broke my heart. It seemed like it was always one step forward, and two steps back. Infections, breathing problems, hemorrhages, and more were just some of the things that we faced.

Miley and Irelyn came home from the hospital, at different times, almost two months after they were born. They have experienced more in the first two months in their lives than many people ever will.

So, why is March of Dimes so important to me? I don't want other parents or babies to go through what we have. I want all babies to have the healthy start that they so rightfully deserve. The March of Dimes is an incredible organization that is working to do this.

This year will be my third walk. If you are able to contribute at all, I really appreciate it. If you have already contributed, thank you again.

Bed transition

Some old pics of the girls room back in the day...

And now, time for....
Bed transition!!!! Minus new bedding- pics to come when transition is complete!

I have SO dreaded transitioning Miley and Irelyn from cribs to beds. The girls have never tried getting out of their cribs, but now potty training at night has become a bit more tricky. The girls are fully potty trained at day, but at night only Miley is potty trained. Irelyn has a way to go. My fear though is that Miley won't be able to go to the bathroom at night if needed when stuck in her crib. It hasn't been a problem yet, because she holds it all night, but I wonder about the future. Thus, the transition began.
I woke up Wednesday morning and just decided to do it. The girls were SO excited! They now had big girl beds. I have to transition their entire room now. It needs to be a "big girl room" since they're are no longer babies :). I have bought most of the things we need, I just gotta do it.
As far as sleeping is concerned, it's just been a little weird with them in my room in the morning. They are still sleeping well though...fortunately!!!

Cribs to beds????

So, I converted the girls cribs to beds today. Kinda worried. Why fix what isn't broke :). Stay tuned tomorrow to find out whether the girls slept all night. :0)

Miley and Irelyn's 3rd birthday

Yes, this is obviously late, lol. Just trying to catch up :). If I had a laptop, this would be easier....
It was a great party at Gymboree. Perfect for two little girls turning three :)

Christmas at Papa Micks

After we left Aunt Katie's house, we went to Papa Micks house. The girls napped on the way over there, so they were in good moods and ready for Christmas part 3! The girls got a surprise right away when they got over there. A Barbie Jeep!!! They got to take the Jeep to the park and man it was fun! Irelyn loved to drive that thing. She didn't watch where she was going, but it was fun. Miley loved being the passenger :).
Look what we got!!!

Weeeeeeeeee!!!!

Christmas at Katie's House

So, I pretty much FAILED at taking pictures at my sister's house. I took TWO pictures. Yes, these are the two. I didn't even realize I did it, until right now. We had a great time at my sisters house. The girls played together, we ate, opened presents, and spent time together, It was good times. My parents got Miley and Irelyn this farm set (and many other things) that Miley has been obsessed with since. I should take pictures of it! Thanks for having us Katie!

Looking at our new babies, and dollhouse....dollhouse?

Yes, a new dollhouse, just for you!

I love you Thomas!

Making a cake!

Of course, there were more Christmas day festivities when we went to my parents and Cameron's parents houses :)

Christmas Cookies

These are the faces of happy girls making Christmas cookies :)

Santa!

No, this wasn't our first time seeing Santa this year...
First time we went we didn't go anywhere near the man. The girls were screaming and crying and Irelyn was screaming, "Alfie, Kelly, Isobella!" because she knew she had to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas (Thomas trains). It was quite humorous. Then, the next time they sat on his lap. Didn't like it, but better. This was breakfast with Santa. They officially like Santa :).

Chritsmas with Trevor, Myeong, and Evelen

Trevor, Myeong, and Evelen couldn't come down for Christmas so we had an early family Christmas with them!! It was great seeing baby Evelen. She is getting so big and SO cute!!! We had Christmas again with Cameron's family, minus Trevor, Myeong, Evelen, and uncle Todd on Christmas day.
