I am copying this from my note on facebook :)
If you are tired of hearing about this, I'm sorry!
Before having Miley and Irelyn I had no clue really what a preemie was. I knew that babies sometimes were born early, but really that is all I knew. Having my girls was extremely hard. Babies are not supposed to be born so early. But, unfortunately it does happen, quite often too. Having two beautiful girls born so early has been the single hardest thing I have done in my life. Watching your children have to learn to do things that are supposed to be so natural, like eating, just broke my heart. It seemed like it was always one step forward, and two steps back. Infections, breathing problems, hemorrhages, and more were just some of the things that we faced.
Miley and Irelyn came home from the hospital, at different times, almost two months after they were born. They have experienced more in the first two months in their lives than many people ever will.
So, why is March of Dimes so important to me? I don't want other parents or babies to go through what we have. I want all babies to have the healthy start that they so rightfully deserve. The March of Dimes is an incredible organization that is working to do this.
This year will be my third walk. If you are able to contribute at all, I really appreciate it. If you have already contributed, thank you again.
