An Important Day

March 17th is all around an important day. When I started to think about it I came up with a "topic sentence" as to why the day is important. Apparently, I always think like a teacher, lol. My topic sentence- "March 17th is important for various reasons." If you aren't a teacher you may have no idea what I am talking about. But, I will include my SUTW paragraph at the end of this post (yes, I'm random).
Anyway, back to my post.....
Nicu Homecoming- Part 2
One year ago today Miley came home from the Nicu. After 7 weeks in the Nicu she was finally released. It's funny because the biggest reason why she had to stay in the hospital is because she wouldn't eat. She preferred to sleep through her feedings. So, she finally figured out how to eat and came home!! She was about 6.5lbs. Again, Cameron and I had to drive separate vehicles home from the hospital, and it was so scary going from the monitors telling me she was okay to in my backseat.
We were so glad she was home though!
Ready to go home in her carseat.

In her swing the day after she came home.

Nicu Homecoming- Part 3
You may be wondering why there is a part 3. Well, Miley's homecoming meant the first time that Miley and Irelyn had been reunited since I was pregnant. It was such a wonderful moment seeing the girls be "reunited again for the first time." It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
When I placed Miley in the pack-n-play with Irelyn she just couldn't get close enough and couldn't get enough of Irelyn. Irelyn, on the other hand, decided to cry. So typical. This is the moment they were reunited.

Napping after both realized they missed each other so much.

St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day is just a fun day. But, then again, we always have fun!

Now, for my teacher moment paragraph....
March 17th is important for various reasons. To begin with, this is the day that Miley was released from the Nicu. She was finally able to go home after spending 7 weeks in the hospital. Next, Miley and Irelyn were finally reunited on this day. They hadn't seen each other in so long we were all anxious for this day to happen. Finally, March 17th is St. Patrick's Day. This holiday is just a fun day where you can wear green. March 17th is clearly an important day to our family.
I hope you enjoyed my silly paragraph. I teach first and second graders if you wonder why the paragraph is so basic.
I will do a better job keeping up with my blog too!

Kelly, the pictures of the girls together almost brought tears to my eyes. You can just see that they have a special bond. So sweet! :)
Bringing your baby home from the NICU really is a very special day! In fact, to us, the day our daughter came home is just as profound as her birthday! :)

The pic of the two girls sleeping all cuddled up together is still one of my absolute favorite pics EVER! And knowing the story behind that pic makes it so much more sweet and meaningful.

Nice paragraph, too. :)
