March 7

Two years ago....
March 7, 2008 Irelyn was released from the Nicu. We were FINALLY able to take her home. I was finally able to be a mom outside the hospital walls. It was an amazing day..what we had all been waiting for.....was also a very hard day. Why? Well, for one Irelyn no longer had all the wires attached to her. The wires that told me that she was okay. The wires that told me she was breathing, all of her stats were fine, that she wasn't choking on her bottle, and so on. I had become so reliant on this that I knew that this alone would be tough. But, the absolute hardest part was driving away from the hospital, knowing that I was leaving Miley behind. She wasn't ready to come home yet. Fortunately, Miley only had to stay another 10 days (10 long days :)). But, it was a VERY happy homecoming. And, I will always remember this day.

I'm ready to go!

A very happy mom and dad!

Two of the most amazing Nicu nurses in the world, Stephanie and Jacey. They were amazing and we ow so much to them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Happy home coming day Irelyn!! It is totally scary taking a preemie home wire free. I thought about buying a pulse Ox just for some peace of mind! ;)
