When I was pregnant I was SURE that it was two boys. I was going to name them Evan and Landon. Boy names were easy for us. But, turns out they were both girls! I remmebering waking up after my c-section and saying, "They are both girls, right?" Girl names weren't as simple. I wanted a name that not everyone in a class would have. I hated being one of many Kelly's in my classes (sorry mom:)). I had always loved the name Miley- long before Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana became popular around this time. I was torn as to whether to name Miley this. Cameron and I decided that we would name her it anyway. We hoped that people would think of the celebrity as Hannah Montana instead of Miley. We also hoped that many people wouldn't name their child this. So far I haven't heard of any other Miley's YET, but I have gotten many Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus comments/references when they find out her name. Which, is simply annoying.
Now, on to Irelyn. One day out of nowhere I came up with the name Irelyn. I had never heard it before, but simply loved it. Cameron worried about references to the country, but we decided that we didn't care. I don't think it means anything, I just know that I like it. It was simply a made up name to me- but one taht I adored. We wanted to make sure that Irelyn had a simple middle name, just in case she didn't like her first name. I wanted Irelyn Paige....but didn't want her initials to be I.P.P. So, we gave that to Miley- Miley Paige- and decided on Irelyn Nicole.
I absolutely love both names. I am really not into rhyming names for twins. We also didn't want any family names because we didn't want any side of the family to be offended that we didn't choose them. I wanted unique. Hopefully they won't become too popular!
So, that's it. Just two names that we liked. Nothing too special to it!
Oh, and March of Dimes is on SUNDAY!!! YEA!!!!! Any last minute sponsors? :) :)

I LOVE the girls' names! Though I do think that Katie would have fit in there quite well... lol.
I love your girls names. Very girly and unique. I have always loved the name Ireland for a girl. I never cared about the country reference. I also once taught a little girl whose name was Scotland. I loved that name too but couldn't convince my husband.lol We too found girls names very difficult. Olivia was a week old before she had a name. lol :)
Your girls both have great names.
Audrey's middle name was *almost* Irelyn. Up until about a week before she was born, we were torn between Irelyn & Ireland. We ended up going with Ireland.
Fifty years from now, I will still be laughing anytime you mention I.P.P.! I remember you talking about that while you were pregnant. =)
Yyyyyeeeeesssss! You reached your goal!!!!!!! Congrats. Have fun today.
I loved reading this post. I will probably be laughing about I.P.P. for a few days. Its good you didn't name her that, it would probably be more than a few days if so. Although I never would have thought about it unless I read it somewhere.
